Cornerstone Church occasionally sends out information about its activities through direct mail. We seek to uphold the highest standards in the way we do this work. In this area we seek to balance four values:

1. The appropriateness of engaging our community on matters of faith in a sensitive and straightforward manner. We do not confuse freedom of speech with freedom from speech.

2. Expressing good stewardship with the environment God has entrusted to us. This involves careful thought being given to the effectiveness and environmental impact of any mailing piece.

3. Showing respect for the individual rights and privacy of members of the community.

4. Upholding established community standards and laws in the field.

We recognise that different people mean different things by the notices on their letterboxes. We also acknowledge that there is an established difference between commercial material and public notices such as election material or material from local council or community groups, religious organisations and resident action groups.

We commit to training our delivery teams to NOT deliver to mailboxes that state one of the following:

• Addressed Mail Only

• No Unaddressed Mail

• Posted Letters Only

For other notices, we will leave it to the discretion of the deliverer. This includes notices like:

• No Junk Mail

• No Circulars

• No Advertising Material

This fits best practice in the field and specifically the Code of Practice established by the Marketing Association of NZ.

If you wish to opt out of deliveries from our church, you can use one of the above signs OR email your address to admin@cornerstone.org.nz.

If you have received a piece of mail that does not fit these standards we would appreciate you letting us know.
